When I look at the hires that didn’t work out for my business against the ones that did, more often than not values were at the core of the problem.
Some big lessons learnt
We changed our hiring process to assess candidates against our values
Retention improved significantly, culture aligned with our values and productivity shot up. We also noticed a new found clarity in “what good looks like” in potential hires. When I look back it was pretty painful being in the middle of it, however, the solution couldn’t have been more simple and straightforward.
