Job Description:
The Company: A UK based company who support the MOD, Government, Private Sector, Academia and allies in military cooperation, technology, design of science and opportunities to support military co-operation, capability delivery, diplomacy and economic policy.
The Role: To work in a team of Network Engineers supporting National and multi-national secure networked activities. The work entails designing, building and configuring networks and network services in a dynamic yet secure environment.
Essential Criteria:
- Current Developed Vetting (DV) and UK Nationality
- Must be able to work independantly on complex network solutions, proven by possession of a current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) qualification (or possibly Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) with two years recent and active experience, at the level expected of a CCNP qualified engineer).
- Experience in designing and implementing secure local and wide area IP networks.
- Experience managing IP networks using commercial (e.g. HP Open View) and open source toolsets using SNMP management.
- Experience configuring and supporting Cisco Call Manager including trunking between Call Managers and managing and supporting users on a VoIP network.
- Experience documenting and configuration controlling a complex, dynamic network.
- Proven ability to work in a team under tight time constraints.
- A good communicator to both engineers who may speak English as a second language, and to non-technical users who need to understand the network related issues affecting their activities.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of network defensive techniques
- Knowledge of exploiting ATM bearers
- Knowledge of UK Sovereign IP and ATM encryption techniques
- Knowledge of currently deployed military networks
- Understanding of JSP 440 and JSP 480 requirements.
